Dr. Juliane Watson was born and raised in Whitecourt, a small town northwest of Edmonton. She completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Alberta, while also working with a research team in the Department of Ophthalmology studying age-related macular degeneration. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, graduating with Dean's Honours. Dr. Watson volunteers each spring with the Foundation for International Self Help in Kingston, Jamaica supervising optometry students providing eye care to local residents on the island. Dr. Watson enjoys practicing her full scope of optometric training, welcoming patients of all ages. Her special interests include pediatrics, ocular disease, contact lenses, nutrition and vision therapy/training. In her spare time Dr. Watson keeps active in the gym with powerlifting and yoga.
